Mr. Lara earned his Juris Doctor from Gonzaga University graduating in 2013. While at Gonzaga, Mr. Lara interned with the Honorable Frank Kurtz at the Unites States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Washington. Mr. Lara also interned with the Federal Defenders of Eastern Washington and Idaho working on criminal matters in Federal District Court.
Before law school, Mr. Lara graduated from Eisenhower High School in Yakima, Washington in 2004. Mr. Lara earned an undergraduate degree in history from the University of Washington graduating in 2008. Soon after graduating, Mr. Lara married his college sweetheart and started a family.
In his spare time, Mr. Lara enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and pretty much any outdoor activity in the mountains of Washington State.

Experience
Prior to joining Meyer, Fluegge & Tenney, P.S., Mr. Lara worked for the law office of Hurley & Lara where he handled a variety of legal matters including criminal defense cases, debtor/creditor matters, collection matters, contract cases, landlord-tenant matters, and other civil litigation.
Mr. Lara has tried criminal jury trials and numerous civil trials in Yakima County District Court. Mr. Lara resolved a case dealing with due process violations on the part of the City of Mattawa which resulted in the City re-writing their notice of code violation procedures to provide for a cost-free administrative review process of suspected violations.
