Mr. Montoya graduated from Pacific University, in Forest Grove, Oregon, in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  In 2022 he graduated from Northwestern School of Law at Lewis & Clark College with a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resource Law.   

Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Mr. Montoya played college football at Pacific University.  Mr. Montoya originally moved to the Pacific Northwest for a change in scenery from Arizona, but now prefers the four seasons of the Yakima Valley.  In his spare time, Mr. Montoya enjoys listening to music on vinyl and cassettes or fly fishing.  He and his wife have rescued several dogs and can be found at farmers' markets in Yakima or Ellensburg when the season is right, or at any of the area's wineries or breweries.

While at Lewis & Clark, Mr. Montoya worked with the national Agricultural Law Center, and worked with the Western Resources Legal Center, focusing on working with agribusiness and agriculture.  Mr. Montoya also worked with the American Farm Bureau Federation.  Mr. Montoya joined Meyer, Fluegge & Tenney, P.S., full-time in 2022.  Mr. Montoya primarily works in complex civil litigation matters and high asset dissolutions, but he also has experience in real estate, probate, estate planning, transactions, and family law.   Mr. Montoya has been involved in litigation in Snohomish, Skagit, Kittitas, and Yakima Counites, and has worked to resolve his client's matters in an efficient manner.
